Basketball Team
The Basketball Team finished this season with an even record, a
feat that hasn't been accomplished in quite a while. Among its vic–
tims were Tilden, Midwood, and Canarsie, who were defeated twice
during league play.
The seniors of this fine Tech team were Eric Long, Dalton Barnett,
Cornelius Reed, Gary White, Reginald H. Lawrence, and head man–
ager Alan Baker.
Eric Long was team center and Gary White played a forward
position. Long averaged 12 points and 12 rebounds a game. White
and Lawrence contributed strong support in their rebounding. A
versatile ball player, Long could turn out a great performance at
either guard or forward positions. Co-Captains Reed and Barnett
were the two guards. Reed, a playmaker and a scorer, averaged 9
points a game and led the team in assists. Barnett averaged 13
points a game.
