Electrical Course
The Electrical Course familiarizes a student with
basic electrical concepts and applications. Various
phases of power such as production, distribution,
and conversion are studied and applied in labora–
tory work, in which students use numerous measur–
ing instruments and electrical machines.
The Electronics Course has two options: broad–
casting and electronics. In broadcasting, students,
using the facilities of WNYE for their instruction,
are prepared to obtain FCC licenses. Emphasis is
placed on testing, measuring, and maintenance of
transmission and receiving equipment.
The electronics option is concerned with basic
electronic components and their applications.
Components such as transistors, diodes, and pen–
todes are analyzed and combined into progressively
intricate circuits. Basic electronic theory is applied
to modern developments such as TV, radar, and
computers.
Instruction in computer programming is another
example of how the Electrical Course galls the heels
of progress.
