The College Preparatory
In the days of the Viking, a general knowledge
of the world about him was necessary for any man
to survive. A Viking had to be a seaman, expert
and confident with his equipment, a warrior, cap–
able of defending himself in combat, and a farmer,
fighting the hostile conditions of the northern
weather. A man who lived in a dangerous world,
he had to use his wits as well as his brawn to con–
quer it.
At Tech it is doubtful that one would have to
undergo the rigors of a Viking, but for those boys
who do not wish to specialize at an early age, the
Technical College Preparatory Course offers the
student knowledge in a wide variety of subjects.
Besides the required programs in mathematics,
English, science and history, the C .P. course allows
the Technite to choose the option of two or three
years of French or German. It also provides him
with a number of electives in the senior year, in–
cluding metallurgy, printing shop and biology.
With this type of preparation it is then possible for
the graduate to pursue his chosen goal at college.
