OHSans, enrolled in driver education, learned

the importance of safe, defensive driving. In cars fur–

nished by Hotaling's Chrysler-Plymouth, students

practiced

city

driving, skidding, and thruway driving.

In class, they learned to use road maps, discussed

interstate highway systems, saw films on the parts of

the car, and heard special reports on seat belts, insur–

ance, and traffic laws.

Taking care of thousands of student visits, the

health office provided both dental and health care.

Health service personnel gave physical and dental

check-ups and tested vision and hearing.

In accordance with a new state law, the health

office checked student's records for polio immuniza–

tion as well as giving health appraisals for working

papers and interschool sports.
