The primary goal of a Junior Varsity football

program is to develop players for Varsity football.

The 1977 Chenango Valley J.V. football program

was very successful in attaining this goal. Many of

the J.V. players will be filling vacancies in next

year's Varsity team. Although the 1977 J.V. squad

attained only a 3-5-1 record, the dedication and

spirit exhibited by the players can be an example

for all. From the beginning it was an uphill battle

for this year's squad. Faced with small numbers

and a small number of personnel, the team devel–

oped a pride in itself. Chenango Valley earned a

reputation around the league as being aggressive,

hard hitting football players that never quit. This

attitude will be a big plus on next year's squad.
