Car makers capitalize on creatures

No longer does the "bug"

or "Super Beetle" have

dominance in parking lots, as

major car makers have

capitalized on the abundance

of creatures roaming the

animal kingdom, in naming

their new creations.

Many students, 546 with

legitimate parking stickers

issued by the Student Council,

reject their opportunity to ride

the Big Yellow Bus and opt

for the more convenient travel

in their own car. Others try to

pursuade friends to transport

them, regardless of whether

they travel by a bird (T-Bird,

Firebird, Sunbird, Skylark) or

herd (Mustang, Bronco, Pinto,

Colt, Maverick) or pack

(Cougar, Bobcat).

One can· t pass through the

parking lot without noticing

the abundance of mid-sized

cars, purchased for their

gasoline economy.

Of those who drive to

school, 375 students are

full-time, 17 1 are half day

students, whose parking area

is in the lot across from the

music building.

Outnumbering the Juniors by

one sticker, the seniors (with

15 1 stickers) got first

preference in obtaining parking

stickers in September. Juniors,

with 150, followed while

sophomores, with 74 parking

stickers, were last.
