The year that had its "Ups and Downs" was brought to a climax. when Valley
knocked off PRP for the West District Title. The Panthers were picked as 12 point
favorites over Valley, but Va lley had what it too)<.
The Panthers scored first on an intercepted pass. Valley closed the gap by a
TD by Steve Redmon. In the second half trailing by one point, Ray Norman scored
on the first play with a spectacular 64-yard run. PRP wasn't about to give up.
Greg Sheeley recovered in the end zone a blocked
p~:~nt.
PRP had the lead again.
With 2 minutes left Steve Redmon dashed 66 yards to make Valley "Number 1" in
the West District.
