Jhal Basi, Wonderful, !}ear
This is the year that many of us waited for, which seemed like
an eternity, for the final year of school. We are now facing the
future quite realistically, but we often look back on pleasant mem–
ories that help us remember that this is the World of Valley.
Touching a subject very dear to Seniors, we would like to refer
to an article in the Valley Hi-Lites of 1965 done by Angela Smith.:
Each part of our ring symbolizes very importa'nt qualities of a
senior, his life, and his beliefs.
The
'V'
on our ring symbolizes Valley, our school. The opened
book, the book of Knowledge, symbolizes the years of work and
diligence put forth by every senior.
There are four words written on our class rings, Truth, Honor,
loyalty, and Wisdom, each showing how we have lived and what
our lives mean to ourselves, to each other, and to our school.
Not only the seniors but the whole school make up the World of Valley,
which is the key to our future and sutcess. The Annual Staff would like to take
this time to thank all those that helped in making the '66 Vikiilg a book to
be
treasured by many. The Poem, The World of Valley based on Carl Sandburg's
poem "Chicago", was submitted by John McCubbin, a member of the Creative
Writing Class. To memories fond and true, to the past and the future, this is
the World of Valley.
