Colonel CHRIS 0. DIVICH Commander Basic Military Training School Col. Chris 0. Divich is Commander of the Basic Military Training School, United States Air Force, at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas. Col. Divich was born in Doland, South Dakota in 1934. He was graduated from the University of Kansas in 1956 with a BS degree in Education. Col. Divich entered the Air Force with an ROTC Commission and was graduated from pilot training in 1958. Following pilot training, he served with SAC until 1966 flying KC-97's and KC-135's. He attended Air Command and Staff College in 1966-67 and was selected for Major during that year. After graduation, he spent a year in South East Asia flying B-66's. He accumulated 600 hours combat flying while flying over 200 combat missions . From 1969 to 1975, Col Divich was Commander of Project Speckled Trout, a high level Research and Development detachment responsible to the Office of CSAF. In this capacity, he also served as pilot for the CSAF. In 1975, Col. Divich attended the Industrial College of the Armed Forces, Ft. McNair, Washington, D.C. His military decorations and awards include: The Distinguished Flying Cross with Oak Leaf Clusters, Bronze Star, Meritorious Service Medal, eight Air Medals, two Air Force Commendation Medals, two Presidential Unit Citations, four Air Force Outstanding Unit Awards, and Vietnam Campaign Medals.
