The carnival hop was held aturday evening, proving the best dance of the year pre– ceding the enior hop. Mu i was furnished by ymph nians, who kept the dance floor filled constantly with enthu ia tic couples. ne of the main features of the evening wa the pre entation of hop favor to the girl following the grand march. In accordance with an old carnival traditiOn, a arnival Queen and maid of honor were ch en. h sen queen wa fi ancy mith, gue t of Leslie Deming. The maid of honor and their e ort ( ee cut) ·were a follow : ue Haubner with Art Humphreys Mar aret hide ter with Horace~ hiteley, and Mary Denny, guest of Bill Nixon. The impre ive coronation v a enacted by a picked rifle guard and all the cadet officers. The guard and color formed a semicircle at the front of the hall. In front of the colors were the Battalion ommander, Herb Roth, \.vho pre ented the award to the queen; the Adju– tant adet apt. Arthur Humphrey , wh read the pecial rders. In front of them was a double line f ffi er under wh e cro ed abres walked the queen and her maids of honor. Patron and patrone e included Lt. ol. and 1r . Me arthy, Major and Mrs. Dilling– ham, Lt. ol. and 1r . Al paugh Lt. ol. and Mr . Verbeck apt. and Mrs. ampson. The following morning, unday, all cadet and their gue t attended chapel service. After dmner gue t returned to their ro m t prepare for departure after the tea dance. 1u ic for thi emi-formal dance wa furni hed by Dick Kowell and his orchestra. At 5:30 gue t departed, thrilled and full of plea ant memorie of a wonderful week end.
