FACULTY 5

Mrs. G. Yol.Xlg, Mr. C. Abraham, Mr. J. Stofflet, Mr. E. Hanson, Dr. C. Y. Wiswell. Mrs. Rob~rt Morava (not shown 1n the photo) was appointed 1n Janu ry to f il1 out the remainder of the term left vacant by the death of Mrs. Charles right. Administration John Stofflet Superintendent IN MEMORIAM Mrs. Charles right served generously .nd with great benefit to the school and the children of the district during her five ~nd one half years of service on the Board of Education. Her help and creative thought will be greatly m1ss~d by the district and the school. The Board of Education is responsible for the total operation of the school. It selects the administrator and approves all faculty and staff; sets school pol1c1es; approves the curriculum; and IS responsible for all f inanc1al matters of the school including salaries and benefits as well as all other costs of operation, and the development and maintenance of buildings and grounds. Th1s year's mc:~jor problem was that of persuading the oistrict voters to meet the needs of our expand1ng enrollment by vot1ng to ptrmit the building of an eight -classroom dd1tion ( high school ~d 4 gr~de school rooms) ~nd the remodelling of our 1920 era Home Economics room; a feat finally occomplis1ed (after two bitter contests at the polls) when the distr1ct voted to permit the borrowing of $270, 000. The work w~s begun in January and IS scheduled for complet1un in time for the open1ng of school next fall. 6
