THEY HOLD THE BOOK Many students were seen enjoying and making use of our fine library this year. The bright, cheery room makes a fine place to study while using the reference materials. Our book collection is continually grow– ing. Each year it becomes bigger and better. Last year 514 new books were added. This year, during the first semester, we acquired 388 books. This makes a total of 4050 books in the library. During 1951 and 1952, there was a circu– lation of 9288 books. Next year we expect our circulation to represent an increase of 300 per cent over the past four years. A new strip film file was purchased this year to accommodate our growing strip film collection cataloged in many different sub- jects. These give us variety and more infor– mation in our classes. Two large magazine racks filled with a great variety of magazines contain popular magazines for enjoyment and research. In addition to serving the high school students. there is a traveling rural schools library in our district. Mrs. Billings has twelve student librar– ians helping her. They help check out books, get new books ready, and help stud– ents look for information. Our library is always being improved. With the students' help it will continue to be a wonderful place to study and read for en– joyment. Seventy-on
