Hogan, A . Buchberger, M. Buehrens, C. Klaus, J. Heuer. LINES! LINES! .LINES~ Clintonville's forensic story of 1953 could be told adequately in one seven-lettered capsule-sized word– ''Succe s." The annual mid-eastern forensic contest, in which eight schools competed for the forensic trophy, was held at Kimberly. This year Clintonville's team won the conference trophy. Forty-two students participated in the local con– test; and eight students moved on to distr.ict after re– ceiving "A" ratings at the league cont .l m Shawano. Thcs • stud nls were: Lois Fill now and Sue Rulseh in serious declamation; Kay Jo Kuester, extcmpor speaking; Madeline Smit, original oratory; Ila Timm, non-original oratory; Mary Lynn Rafoth, humorous declamation; Tom Malueg, expressive reading; and Jack Finch, four-minute speaking. Debate, too, was credited with wins. The varsity team consisted of affirmative JoAnn Ford, Bob Olen and negative Madeline Smit and Kay Jo Kuester. The team had a five win and one loss record at the conference meet, tying for second place. This made the team eligible for the district meet at Stevens Point. The First Annual Forensic Night was a n w ven– ture fo1· the chool; and v ry entertaining to the par– ents and teacher who attended. Fifty-five
