"Our Hearts Were Young and ~Gay" "Our Hearts Were Young and Gay," a three-act comedy written by Cornelia Otis Skinner and Emily Kimbrough, was presented by the junior class on November 19 and 20 in the high school auditorium. The play developed around the experiences of two American girls who traveled to Paris to study for the stage. The parts of the two American girls were played by Lois Fillnow as Emily Kimbrough and Jo Anne Ford as Cor– nelia Otis Skinner. The many adventures and escapades of the girls filled the play with laughs from start to finish. The parts of the worried father and mother were played by Bruce Carter and Marcelene Ewald who added plenty of wit and humor to the plot. Bob Olen as Dick Winters and Roger Thirty-eight Kerstner as Leo Me Evoy, provided a touch of romance much to the consternation of the par– ents, and added to the complication of the girls. Harriet St. John and Winifred Blaugh the crisp English girls, were played by Mary Buss and Dorothy Sinkewicz. John Janson was Mon– sieur De La Croix, the over-dramatic French actor. The ship's personnel consisted of How– ard Eggleston as steward, Jack Finch as purser, Vernell Steege as the stewardess, George Raue as Admiral and Carol Kluth as the inspector. The busy housekeeper was portrayed by Donna Passehl and her daughter the maid, was played by Geraldine Rhode. Raymond Hoffmann played the part of the window cleaner. The play, directed by Miss June Zeitler, was very well received.
