Madeline Smit, secretary-treasurer; Mark Speckhard, president; Roy Erickson, vice-president. CURTAIN CALLS In the time that has passed since we first entered this building, each one of us has gone from the adolescent stage to the point where we stand ready to take our place with other young people and carry out the re– sponsibilities of our own lives in an adult way. This article can tell of some of our ac– tivities, but it cannot ever begin to tell of the many personal memories that will return to our minds whenever such things as the Junior Prom or the Clintonville-Shawano game are mentioned. Each senior associates his high school life with many happy and, yes, a few sad memories. As seniors, we won the Student Council Cup by winning the float competition. Our entry, with the slogan "We'll Make Monkeys Out of the Ghosts" was a fine example of co-operation and organization within the class. There was no lack of cheering by class members when the announcement was made at the Homecoming bonfire. In the "year of elections," 1952, politics came to Clintonville in the form of the "Po- Sixteen litical Promenade" our senior all-school party. Being the first party of the year, it was a wonderful mixer and a fitting climax to the round of parties put on by the Class of '53. There was a great deal of enthusiasm for the class play. A cast of over thirty turned out to help make "Green Valley" another senior success. As we approach graduation day, we look forward to new ways of living and to making new friends; but we look back on all of our high school years with many thanks to the wonderful people who have helped us pass through this, one of the happiest times of our lives. In addition to the wide range of activi– ties participated in by the seniors, they also were well represented by honor students. The honor students are Dorothy Gomoll, Larry Homrig, Betty Jaeger, Thelma Klemp, Kay Jo Kuester, Chuck Laux, Tom Malueg, Dan Schnorr, Jerry Schoenike, and Mark · Speckhard.
