I realized that I had an organization addiction when I began spending more time at meetings than I spend in class. O.A. Tell me. what led you to join your first organization? Norma. Well, my friends told me that I wasn't " in" unless I belonged to an organization. I was afraid that I would lose my friends if I didn't join. O.A. Sounds like peer pressure to me. Then what happened? Norma. After I joined one. I just couldn't stop. I joined more and more. O.A. How many times a day would you say you participate in organiza- tions? Norma. I usually go to one or two meetings before school, two or three at break, and there are always three or four after school. O.A. Why do you feel that you have an addiction? Norma. Well. sometimes when I've had a hard day, I wake up in the middle of the night and feel that I need an organizational meeting. O.A. Norma Snodgrass. you appear to have an organizational addiction.
