A tiny egg, comprised of (plus or minus) twenty-five advancing minds, begins to form in the summer. Ideas and opinions-bizarre and traditional-remained hidden by the opaque shell. Around the middle of September, the egg hatches into a rather ugly caterpillar. From September to April, the caterpillar slowly, but consistently, moves along, growing bigger and bigger all the time. In April, the caterpillar, being finished with that stage of its' life, wraps itself in a warm, snug cacoon. Before long, it emerges as a beautiful "butterfly," a "butterfly" worthy of your acquaintance. As we unclasp our shielding hands and let this "butterfly" out to you, we hope you will admire it, touch it, feel it's true inner feelings, and listen to what it has to say to you. And even though its' color scheme may or may not be exactly to your liking, remember that each one of its' different hues pleases someone. If each color pleases you, that's beautiful, and if each color doesn't please you, that's also beautiful. We hope that the flight of our "butterfly" will remind you of the year that you left behind- the friends and class– mates that grab on to the little handles in your memory. Realizing that high school is so many things, (such a as– semblies, 10¢ Cokes, Gymnastics, illegal snowballs, and teachers) the flight of our "butterfly" begins with the most significant-People; the flight begins with the most important aspect of People-their personality ... their emotions ........ .
