Remember the days of the Muppets, Captain Kangaroo and the Smurfs? They were days never to be forgotten because they were our days. Our generation faithfully watched the Dukes of Hazard, went into a frenzy over the Cabbage Patch Kids and imitated the styles and moves of the "material gir1," Madonna. It was a time that was too good to be true. Our lives have always revolved around school. • Interactions with our peers, participation in activities and the exL.....~:::::ii~:..._ _ _j cit em en t of the social life all were proof that school was not simply reading, writing, arithmetic and just doing what was due. High school was a diversified learning experience that shaped us into responsible and mature individuals. As young adults, we became more aware of the problems in our world. As ..,~;''.:- ~·-::-. we watched the IIi P--:~·n.• looting in Los Angeles, (can't on page 5 )

the destruction of Hurricane Andrew, the starving children in Somalia and even the graffiti that defaced our own building, we began to realize the importance of unity. We discovered that we were all united in so many ways within the halls of our school. By recycling, supporting team members and learning together, we became all for one and one for all. Our four years for memories became this book...not simply black and white as in the first chapters but, in reality, read all over. -Kimberly Barton, Melissa Casey and Sarah Fry

Too Good ga. To Be True As students constantly attempted to meet teachers' standards, we often found ourselves wondering where life had gone. We entered high school fresh out of the eighth grade and were soon shocked to find that today was not top priority, tomorrow was. SATs, college - whatever happened to Friday night? Amazingly, we found time to slow down and spend time with our friends. We went to games, movies, or had a few friends over. We got jobs, volunteered and made good use of our time. With a student body as diverse as ours, we all had one thing in common: the need for fun, relaxation and life. When one put it in perspective, our lives were not all that bad. Actually, they were too good to be true! -Amber McLellan, Student Life Editor
