Little Giants Freshman sports provided young athletes with the chance to get used to the transition from middle school to high school sports. Participation in sports like fresh– men football, basketball, and wrestling was a time for students to figure out where they belonged in the athletic program.Getting to know the coaches, other players, expecta– tions, and traditions of these sports allowed students to determine whether they wanted to invest the time, effort, and hard work into th comming years. But these youth were not players to be o erlooked; their mall stature was no hindtrance to their performance. They were making footprint of their own, earning the title, Little Giants. eplacen1ents After a long year proving themselves on the field of play, students found junior arsity sports to be a happy medium be– tw en freshman and varsity sports. In the progression from novice to full-fleged high school athlete, the time spent with the jun– ior varsity team continued to tone and re– fine the raw talent these players possesed. otto be out-played by either the freshmen or the arsity teams, these dedicated young heart knew that their time in the limelight, as well a the tradition of athletic excel– lence, would one day depend on them.
