Blue Ridge High School 1959 Yearbook (New Milford, PA) - Full Access

JUNIORS Hallstead and Great Bend classes were united again this year. Many new friendships were formed. Our class officers were: President, Barbara Cummings; Vice President, David Sine; Secretary, La Vera Young; Treasurer, John Skaritza. Mrs. Hartt was our homeroom sponsor. At the beginning of the school year, we ordered our class rings, and after anxiously awaiting their arrival, they came in January. We sold candy and stationery to help increase our treasury. Under the direction of Mrs. Hartt, we staged our Junior Play, "Almost Summer." Carol Stone left us this year to become Mrs. Glenn Teel, and Sue Harrison also left school. Our Junior-Senior Banquet was held at the New Milford Park View Hotel. Dick Naylor's Orchestra played at our Prom. We initiated the "Queen-Princess" idea at our Prom. Arlene House reignedas Queen and Christine Menzies was crowned Princess. Their attendants were 1\.ia.rgaret Holtzman, Marilynn Whaite, Judy Hurlburt, and Jackie Cox. John Joyce and James Wilbur crowned the Queen and Princess. After the Banquet and Prom, came the other importantcommencement activities, and those all-impor– tant report cards, which said we were Seniors. At long last our dream became a reality and we were Seniors. Our first project was selling Blue Ridge sweat shirts, and then 'l"e began sponsoring the roller skating parties. The cast of the Senior Play was organized and "The Charming Intruder" was performed admirably. Bill Ulco was the only class member who left school this term. Our class officers were: President, James Wilbur; Vice President, Jackie Cox; Secretary, Barbara Vogel; Treasurer, Edward Colwell. Our Washington trip, Class Night, Baccalaureate, and Commencement--we will have reachedour goal– graduation. SENIORS
