GREAT BEND SOPHMORES The first step toward our goal, graduation was to become Sophomores. Our class officers were elected and they were: President, Jack Conklin; Vice-President, John Skaritza; Secretary, Barbara Jackson; Treasurer, David Sine. Mr. Giangrleco was our home room sponsor. Our projects for the year were selling hot dogs, fudge, and salt water taffy. Sharon Hibbard, Arnold Colwell, Francis Schlick, and Paul Chinese left us this year. Our German classmate, Karin Filsinger, left us this year to return to her homeland. Our trip to Rocky Glen ended an exciting and eventful year. At last we are actually in Senior High School. Our first task was to elect officers. Richard Ter– boss and La Vera Young were the head of the class as President and Vice-President. JimWilbur was Secretary and Mary Chidester was Treasurer. Our home room teacher and class advisor was Mrs. Hartt. Our class was composed of 22 mem– bers. Chris DeLucia and Mike Jones left school and Gary Burnard moved to the Windsor District. Through an unfortunate accident, Eileen Welch, a friend to each member of the class, passed away. Our class decreased considerably in size. We all joined in for a day of fun and enjoyment at Rocky Glen at the end of the year. Our goal, graduation, was getting nearer. HALLSTEAD· SOPHMORES
