Chapter ofthe Somerset Township High School start– ed the term's activities with a Candlelight installation of offi– cers service to which all the mothers or the Home Economics stu– dents were invited. Handmade invitations, white candles,red roses, an attractive buffet table of party sandwiches, hot cocoa served by the boy's Home Economics class, dressed as chefs; and special music added up to a very delightful evening for all. This also served as a chance for the new teacher, Mrs. William E. McMinn and the mothers to become acquainted. The goals for the year were: 100% attendance to the State Farm Show and redecorating the Home Economics room. A bulletin board which was changed weekly and a planned program for each meet– ing were also goals. ~build upfunds for carrying out these goals the girls served a hot lunch to the students and teachers twice a week in the Home Economics room, and they sold plastic articles and dish cloths. A roller skating party sponsored by the club provided fun for the school gang and helped to swell the treasury. An F.H.A. sextet conducted and organized school music director, furnished entertainment son~s of home. by Mr. Griffith, for many with its "The Pastel Parade" is a club scrapbook started by the girls this year. The historian had much help with each girl contributing a decorated page of pastel colored cloth to the scrap book. The pages were bound in a hand-tooled leather cover. F.H.A.
