Elizabeth Payne Miss Elizabeth Payne, a 1926 graduate of Coughlin, has taught Algebra at Coughlin for the past 42 years. Before entering the classroom she wished to help the student understand the importance of algebra, which she feels has been accomplished with great success. Miss Payne, who wouldn't trade her years of teaching for anything, will never forget the friendliness which has been extended to her throughout the years. After many years of fulfillment, her future plans are centered around relaxation. DEDICATION James Payne Mr. James Payne has taught at Coughlin for the past 38 years. He graduated from Coughlin with the class of 1923. As a teacher of Health and Physical Education, his goals were to aid students in their understanding of these subjects and to help them realize their importance, both of which he feels he has accomplished. Memories of which he will be fondest are those of the people, faculty, parties, and programs at Coughlin. Mr. Payne has enjoyed his years teaching and says, "If I didn't like Coughlin, I wouldn't have stayed here this long." 4 Louis Palermo Mr. Louis Palermo was a graduate of Coughlin High School, class of 1925. He has been a teacher at Coughlin for 27 years. Aside from teaching, Mr. Palermo has served as coach and assistant coach of the Coughlin High School Football Team.
