DIRECTION: the line or course on which something is moving or is aimed to move. From the science labs to the gym, from wood shop to World Cultures, and from the art room to E = mc 2 , activities at CHS are always changing - moving in different directions. Some of the directions are good and some are not; still, we move on, adapting and trying new ideas. Coughlin and the people who compose it, continually find themselves facing new and different channels. For the student, the main directions point toward intellectual achievement and social relationships. Academic pursuits help his mind grow and expand, preparing him for future decisions. His attitudes of sportsmanship and competition are guided by his participation in athletic events and group activities. He aims for a unique type of harmony. For the faculty member, opportunities for directions are countless. He promotes and guides the aspirations of the student. helping him to reach his potentials. In addition, the instructor is able to aid the pupil with his academic problems whenever and wherever they arise. Directions, whether they be given or followed, are a necessary ele· ment at Coughlin. Individuals use and combine the courses they follow to develop a viable plan for the future. 2
