Fourth Rou·-Grant Gr gory, John Mul– hall, David Bartlett, Curtis Thoma , Robert Howe, Richard Bartlett, John Poder, John Campbell, Robert Clarke, Bruce Warshal, Gordon Williams, James Evans, Dale Matthew , Kenneth Wei kerger, Terry Williams, John Argonis. only had men who won first places, but it also possessed sufficient depth in each event, which wa one reason for our outstanding victories last year, as well as in time pa t in fact, since West Pittston's first full team entry in the di trict meet in 1944. We have always had fine runners, and this year should be no exception. Howard Adrian got 3rd at the state meet in 1944 in the 100 and 440, and he came back the following year to get 1 tin the 100 and 2nd in the 440, while Ru Miller got 3rd in the 100 and 220 at State in 1951. We have also had many excellent pole vaulters, with {our managing to hit 11' 6" during recent year , and Dave Richards and Jim Brown placing high in the state meets. At any rate, this year's team shaped into a fine unit, as Mr. Ayre mingled the underclassmen with the veterans to give the former experience and to de– velop a well balanced team. When.the district meet eame in May, West Pittston was all out to take another championship.
