The soiourn ends At 8:55 a.m. confusion reigns in the lav; girls crowd before the mirror for a laat·minute !oak. Everythinq is perfect- time to go. Wailing March winds failed to hamper school spirit at Redstone. Students and faculty alike were too busy to notice a change in the weather. The commercial department bustled with activity. Mrs. Gallagher's girls worked diligently to maintain the reputation earned by girls who took previous Civil Service exams. During these days a tranquilizer would have been the answer to many a nervous girl's prayer. The Black Hawk Five, a favorite at R. H. S., breathed a sigh of relief when the tension· packed season ended. Close upon the heels of this sigh was the patter of feet for thinclads lost no time training for various track events. Competition was rough for the baseball– minded Hawks, but they swung into another season with fe.rvor. They were out to win. April and class parties were synonymous. Sponsors worked side by side with students. Together they devised decorations and enter– tainment to make their party the ultimate hit. Delighted with the thought of owning one of those familiar objects for that third finger, sophomores ordered class rings. Soon they would be upperclassmen. At Easter time all studies were forgotten. When the long-awaited vacation arrived, stu– dents and teachers alike left the building hurriedly with no regrets. May brought one thought to the minds of all-Kennywood. Thrilling rides, homemade goodies, and tlie sounds of laughter blending together resulted in a sensational fun-filled day. ~- ~J_ srfsllill tfJtl5161718 ~cs ' :;Jl 28 (~ jQ 31_ May bustles with activity.
