Tom Stimson Cathy Strohecker Last April Gurney Biehl soared into the wide blue yonder and fell in love with flying. After just four flights with an instructor, fie became "rated" solo pilot by the FAA. Soon his ability and rating were increased, allow– ing Gurney to fly to New York, New jersey, ana parts of Pennsylvania. Such voyages force the pilot to consider radio instructions, towers, and geographical difficulties which may affect flight pattern. Gurney, considers the challenge exciting and finds a thrill hav– ing his life in his llands. In fact, Gurney found cloud nine while he was flying and plans a career as a commercial pilot. Thomas E.
