SECO D ROW: Mrs. Wolf, Laurelee Hur– lock, Candy Setzler, Michelle Mannion, Karen Eaches, Karen Schlichter, Tanya Dietz. This might be thought of as a disap– pointing season for the girls' basketball team. Their record shows more wins than last year, but maybe not as many as expected. There were close games and there were others with refs named "Bobby Socks" and "Nylons". This was a team that always hustled, but also plagued with injuries. It was a team with both a coach who drew many technicals, as well as one who was al– ways well dressed. A collection of zany nicknames like Kimba, Patty, Boonie, lim, joyous, and Matzy show that, most important, it was a team of close– ly-knit girls. This year was a "rebuilding" year for the wrestling team. The team lacked the usual number of senior and return– ing varsity members, and consequently lacked experience. The overall record of the team did not match that of pre– vious years, but the same determina– tion was present. Practice was just as fun as always: endless drills, running the steps, and bamel rolls. And there was always carrying the mats to and from practice.
