The golf team finished its 1976 season with a very respectable win-loss record of 6 and 6. The victories came over some very good teams. The losses were expected by the team, except for the Boyertown match which was lost by one stroke. The most impressive victory was in the last match, over Downingtown. Downingtown was defeated on their home course, which was their first loss there in three years. The golfers had a seasonal advantage over visiting golfers when playing on their home course. The course, nicknamed "The Rock", because of its poor condition, proved difficult for those who had never played it before. Next year's team should prove to be better than this year's, as only two players are being lost to graduation. golf FIRST ROW: Dave Herner, Joe Savastino, Dave Montgom– ery, Marc Petrucelli. Practices started out with mostly running and a game called Roari }apori or was it Marty Laquori? The team had some memorable events over the season which included a girl on the team, get– ting lost looking for the Mt. Penn High School, practicing with only two balls because the rest were stolen, and best of all winning our first game on a water-logged field.
