You can't win by rolling over a defender to score a touchdown, by kicking a ball into a net for a goal, by slamming a ball through a basket, or by out-muscling your opponent on the mats. Chess is a type of sport that requires concentration, skill, and patience. It is a slow-moving game, but the pressure that goes along with it mounts steadily, almost uncontrollably after every move. Unlike other sports, there is no room for error in chess. You can't come back in the fourth quarter to score the winning touchdown or get a reversal in the last ten seconds of the match. In chess, your first mistake is your fast Chess is a fun game to play, and great personal satisfaction can be derived from en– gaging in ri.
