The earth whirls eternally in cold, cold space, Always searching for her final, safe place, Always whirling faster and farther, Never quite capturing what she seeks. And each of us searches endlessly, too, From birth to death, life is but a hunting ground for all the poor, lost generations of men Who try to philosophize and say: "We search for this "We search for this But, never quite admitting that all they seek is security- The cruel, long-sought fuel for the fires of the universe which burn low at each person's death: The ultimate answer to life The only time we are secure-– And then, forever.
