Although our crack cross country team lost its first dual meet in four years to Port Jervis this season, the team bounced back to beat Port in the D.U.S.O. and Section Nine meets and to set new league rec– ords in the process. Another highlight of the season was a rare shutout against Monticello. In order to do this, it was necessary for the team to place the first seven men in the meet. Next year's hopes are brightened by the return of outstanding juniors John Tweedy, Ron Wilson, Jeff. May, and many others working for depth. George Brocco, who vied for individual honors with John Tweedy all. season, graduates this year along with the other top senior placers Jim Hogan, Dick Plaatsman and Frank Hample.
