The 1955 F-M football team hared fir t place m the new county conference with orth Syracu e and olvay, bringing the chool it econd traight football champion hip. After a di appointina- lo to orth yracu e in the ea on' opener, p1nt, team play, and hard work brought the Hornet back to win the re t of their game . Hi-lites of the season were: A clo e win o er a tough olvay team which led 6-0 in the third quarter. F- 1 carne back cor– ing twice on u tained drive , one the re ult of an on ide kick. The up et of a previou ly undefeated kane– atele team by a deci ive 20-0 core. Thi wm put F-M in a tie for fir t place. In the final game of the ea on the Hornet a ured them elve of a tie for the harnpion hip by triumphing over Jarne ville-Dewitt in what wa the b ginning of a trong rivalry. The election of e eral member of our team for po ition on All-County team . Bill Fenn, Paul Yeakel, and Tony Herlo ki made fir t tring team . Tho e cho en for the e ond team included Bill Guild, Tim Fudge, and Wayne Brignall; while Fred Kir chenheiter, John Robert , and Dave Coon received honorable mention.
