A distance runner needs great determination to
practice daily, to run hard, and to win.
Although he gets much of the strength he needs
from within himself, he needs the encourage–
ment of others.
In order to run his long, lonely miles, he needs his
friends, his team, and his coaches.
The last men on the team need the stars to en–
courage them, and the stars need the last men
to inspire them to win.
The great spirit demonstrated this year helped the
Varsity capture N.D.'s first C.O.L. title and
an ·undefeated season.
The J. V. and Freshman teams also finished strong,
both gathering numerous honors and forming a
strong basis for future cross -country success.
