threat of the Regents! Needless to say, we lived through that catastrophe also. In the fifth term Scene Shifters received our talented dramatists and 9F I was eyeing the more athletic of our number. Catherine Wilson served as head of "The Fluttering Fe– males of Fifth Term," and Gloria Pedersen.. was her assistant (Vice– President to those of you who lack imagination), Gloria Enriquez and Vivian Lehto were Secretary and Treasurer respectively. R-for Regents at their th;ckest and worst(est) . In sixth we became acquainted with the gentle art of "cramming." Many a girl could be found "burning the midnight oil" over her studies or trying to persuade her family to move to New Jersey! Catherine Wilson again was elected Grade President (she must have some of F.D.R.'s characteristics), Mary De Pasquale, Vice-President; Gloria Pedersen, Secretary, and Jeannette Malhame, Treasurer. Don't we look back with pleasure to those G .O. el6ctions and the hilarious skits? Those were the times when a candidate found out how many wonderful friends she had-friends willing to labor at rehearsals, to perform their antics prQctically without equipment. Then there were the behind-the-scene cohorts with paint-pots and brushes eternally ready to turn out posters by the dozens. The excitement, fun, and hair– twisting bewilderment in putting the campaign together were enough in themselves, but Catherine Wilson and Alice McKeon accom– plished the crowning glory-election to the offices of G.O. Secre– tary and Treasurer for the following term. Y-youth triumphs! Then came the Grade 7 Party and how we struggled to write, stage and present Fematopia. The whole company of girls giving the play felt the vibrant, sincere driving force of their directress, Betty Macri. There were performances by Jean Grossi, Irene Fredrickson, Joan Faber and Irene Sannella that had us giggling, shouting and howling with glee! Terry Benintendi's singing and Jeannette Malhame's playing delighted us, Mary Sheroney's mono– logue convulsed us and Marcie Shlansky's Sinatra imitation was side– splitting, to say the least! We suspect some minor cases of swoon– ing occurred also (if only by Shlansky devotees)! The seventh term saw many of the grade on the staffs of both school publications, the Ridge Echo and the Maroon and White. Those times spent in "Pub" rushing to meet deadlines, looking pensively ceiling-ward for some heaven-sent inspiration, all members know them. Then as an inspiration dawns, the wild searching for paper and frantic burrow– ing for a pencil, are side-splitting! Kay Kremenich was our editor of the M.&W. in our "uncivilized senior" term.
