Casimir's One indomitable facer of man i~ hi~ everprobing and restless pmt. It is precisely becau e of this restlessness that the human spirit must be guided and channelled onto path of truth and re pect for human dignity. This is indeed a difficult task, but one undertaken willingly by our piritual guides, the pastors of Elmira. To these men we dedicate the Credo '64. None of us can fully realize or appreciate the tremendou re ponsibilitie~ that rest on the shoulders of the e prie ts of God-Church finances, operation of parish school , conducting Church organizations, administering the acraments, and, mo t important of all, bringing Christ to the world and the world to Christ. And yet our pa tor do so with no thought of personal gain or merit. They do so simply because they love their God and their God has commanded it. The students of Notre Dame proudly salute their pastors and spiritual guides. But man is not all spirit. He has ideals that mu t be molded and guided on the paths of right. This al o require a leader. A great man is dead. And from the depths of it grief the world realized it had lost just such a leader. But if John Fitzgerald Kennedy was a great leader, he wa an even greater human being. He had a passion for liberty. He gave hi youth and vitality to the nation and it is only fitting that that nation honor him in it greatest tradition. John Kennedy spent his life fighting the force that divide men, and in the end those forces destroyed him. The irrational hatred that killed our president threatens to destroy us. It is up to u to continue on the way he pointed out. Thi will be our most enduring monument, our greatest tribute. Truly great men need no stone monument to keep alive their memorie and John F. Kennedy was a great man. Hi monument is the American people. NOT PICT RED Rev. William Burns St. An/bony's Re' . Harold Rogers Jmmncu/nt e Henri of Mnry , Painted Post Rev.
