VARSITY CLUB Probably the goal of every sports-minded boy in high school is to join the Varsity Club. The requirements for joining this club are: being a good school cith;en, having good character, and having participated in at least one varsity sport. This year was the first year that Varsity Club had an official initiation. A banquet was held for the new members and their parents. This climaxed a week of pledging, during which time the pledges had to wear the school colors each day. To keep the treasury adequately filled, the Club sponsors dances and holds school concession stands at the home basketball games. The officers are: President, Joh Newman; Vice-President, Don Heller; Secretary, Phil Canders, Treasurer, Joh Squires. Junior Honor Society A maintained average of 89.4 in the final mark of the school year makes students from grades eight through ninth eligible for membership. They are judges on school citizenship, leadership, and loyalty plus service to the school. The organization serves the school by participating in United Service Council, other service clubs, and in giving cosial functions for everyone's enjoyment. Projectionist Club LEFT to RIGHT: Mr. Thomas, R. Tripp, D. Chandler,C.Julian, D. Benzell, D. Fleming, C. Gammons, R. Roberson, J. Comstock. A club which benefits the entire student body along with providing a hobby for its members is the Pro- jectionists Club. It is under the leadership of Mr. Frank Thomas. The members of this club run movies for variow classes during the day, as well as showing film strips in assemblies and after school.
