Vestal High School 1953 Yearbook (Vestal, NY) - Guest Access

6 Foreword In this book, "Chapter One" of our "Book of Life", is revealed the happiness, sadness, excitement, and despair of our never-to-beforgotten high school days. You may find, therein, the character traits which distinguish us as individuals. This chapter shows the development of our ability to take our places in this living, unpredictable world, for through its pages we have acquired the qualities necessary for bearing the responsibilities of life. Although we have written our first chapter under guidance, we deeply realize that we must begin now to write the remainder of the "Book of Life" on our own. We shalldiscover the innumberable opportunities available in this free America for broadening our horizons, for awakening new and fertile interests, and for demonstrating our abilities. We know the past; we are experiencing the present; but the future is dim and distant. We shall, however, strive to meet it with the thought, understanding, and common sense we have thus far acquired.
