The year 1955-1956 has been a busy one for the "North Star," a vessel which conducted eight production cruises. Editors Elaine Kern, during the Fall term, and Nancy Hutchings, during the Spring term, under the supervision of Mr. Haight, directed a crew of some fifty members in the production of the North Star, our ship's paper which covers news, features, sports,special columns, and ads. Aside from publishing the North Star, the crewmembers spon– sored their annual bake sale and the election of the king and queen to reign at the annual May Fling. To aid in North Star production, both a special cabin and map– room of seamen was started this year.
