All Around Champions Wrestling: A form of sport in which the oppo– nents wrestle or struggle hand to hand. Pride, Integrity, Desire, Ded– ication, and Sacrifice (PIDDS) ... the basic creed for the Knights. Strength and determination, No where else can you find twenty men with the greatest desire of winning and taking state individually. Continuing in the Knight tradition, this year's Varsity team was just as pow– erful and aggressive as ever. The Knights wrestlers battled as a team to a 2nd place finish in the State Championships as Lua Cueva in February. A great team effort scored 159 points, 11 short of winning it all. The Knight wrestlers continued their outstanding effort this season by placing 2nd in State. The wres– tlers finished their season as City Champions, District Champions and State Runner-ups. State place winners R.J. Vigil (Heavyweight) 5th in state; Da– vid Rodriguez (112 lbs.) 5th in state; Bryan Welsh (140lbs). 2nd in state; Anthony Chavez (160 lbs.) State Champions; and Kyle Burnett (189 lbs.) State Cham– pion. Kyle Burnett was the only Albuquerque wrestler to go un– defeated this season.
