Girls • I rae k &'""Fie 1.11 "Takes More WiU Than SkiU" is the 1994 Del Norte Girls Track and Field team motto. Their goal is "to have fun! And still be the same to be competitive. And finally to be District Champs," said Coach John Haaland. The other coaches are as follows: Joanna Silva (sprints, long jump, 300-meter hurdles), Kristen Bell (sprints, high jump, 100-meter hurdles), Phil Martinez (shot put, discus). Coach Haaland expects the whole team, since it is his tenth year at DNHS, "to have the determination to succeed and the will to work a little extra. Always be at 100% effort!" The teams' strengths are: Kiaunta Smith and Sheryl Hodge (throwers), Felicia DeVargas, Katie Rehberg, Jennifer Lowder (hur– dlers), Jessica Quinonez (distance), Jody Sifuentes, Sara Cowick, Melissa Edgar (jumpers), Janelle Phillips, Tracee Moore, Kasie Cates, Deana Dean, and Keisha Barbee (sprinters). Track managers are Tra Rankins (freshman) and Carrie Maes (sophomore). The returning lettermen include: Kim Craig, Felicia DeVargas, Melissa Edgar, Sheryl Hodge, Holly Heiser, Jennifer Lowder, Ja– nelle Phillips, Jessica Pino, Katie Rehberg, Kiaunta Smith, Jody Sifuentes, and Catherine Snyder.
