Swish, Swish, Swish Lady Knights Excel During the 93-94 season the varsity girls basketball team gave it their all, and eventually their hard work started to pay off. They came into the 3AAA district competitions playing their best. The Lady Knights worked as team and came to– gether. Their determination and leadership led them to the dis– trict playoffs. During those playoffs they beat Los Alamos the first night but unfortunately lost the next game. The girls ended their season with five dis– trict wins. Many of the Lady Knights were new to the Varsity team, but with the help of four re– turning varsity players, Kiaunta Smith, Shups Garcia, Laura Garcia, and Melissa Carter the new player quickly caught on. "With the young group, we have been very successful," added Coach Lowther, "the girls have learned how their action affects others."
