( Our Nation's Capital: Up Close Close Up Washington can help you ex– plore a world of opportunity because Close Up is not only a government stud– ies adventure, it's a memorable person and civic learning experience. In the , Close Up program Washington C.D. is in your classroom. You visit the halls and committee rooms of government and meet the men and women who influence the course of American politics. You'll discover first hand what's going on in America and how it affects your future. The Close Up group went to Wash– ington on March 27th-April 2nd 1994. Mrs. Bryant, their sponsor, took Warren Chase, Jennifer Chebahtah, Delavina Kedelty, John Lopez, Christy Louns- bury, Jarrod Smith, Yohanna Sunrise, and Andrew Vallejos. While these students were in Wash– ington, they met other students from other areas, talked with the nations pol– icy makers, and during their free time they got to choose from going to see pop– ular sites such as the Smithsonian In– stitution, Georgetown, the Library of congress, Arlington Cemetery, the Na– tional Zoo, and some of the areas pres– tigious universities.
