Promoting Spanish Who doesn't know at least one word of Spanish? We've all heard the commercials for how easy learning spanish is, "S-0-C ... K-S!," but Span– ish is a lot more than just words. Spanish is also a rich and deep culture that has many reasons to be proud. That's exactly how members of the Spanish National Hon– or Society feel. They're very proud of what they are and what they've accomplished being in this organization. Every member of SNHS has a GPA of 3.0 in at least three consecutive semesters of Spanish and loves the lan– guage. DNHS is designed to, as Senora Alarid puts it, "pro- Spanish Honor Society Sponsor Se– nora Alarid. mote the Spanish language and have fun doing it", but it does much more than that. Over the years the society has done many fund raisers to help people in need. For ex– ample, every year these stu– dents become Santas to a spe– cial family who can't find the money for Christmas or birthdays. This year SNHS plans to do a lot more, in– cluding funding a college scholarship for a lucky and deserving Spanish student. The sponsor "magnifica" is Senora Alarid, and the pres– ident is Jessica Quinonez and the secretary is Patrick Mat– thews. Por Amber Carrie Secretary Patrick Matthews.
