'A Little Rowdiness Helps' The first pepfest of the year was a rather belated and con- troversial one. Although the program itself ran smoothly, with an introduction of the girls volleyball team and the cheerleaders, a demonstration by the boy's gymnastic team and a dance by the Rockettes. Many faculty members were upset because of the short notice of the pepfest, and because the proper procedures were not used in preparation of it. However, the girls volleyball team was, at the time, a strong contender for participation in the state tournament and it was decided that an all-school pepfest in recognition of the girls efforts was in order. The girls went on to place third in the state tournament. The spirit of the Roosevelt student body was lively and proved to be well deserving of the long awaited pepfest. 65
