National Award Goes to Laura heryl does the honor . The orche tra, under the dedicated effort and direc– tion of Mr. Donald Niemi, had a very good year with a variety of happening . Among the activitie were two concert , one public recital, a tring orche tra clinic, a well as the Di trict Mu ic Conte t. The Fall Concert featured a harp olo by Nancy Rii– hiluoma and a piano olo, DEEP PURPLE, by Laura Oinonen. The Spring Concert at o featured Laura Oino– nen in a piano olo while Sheryl Salmi and Mary Joki, accompanied her. At the Di trict Mu ic Conte t , 9 of 12 participant received uperior ratings.They at o participated in the Regional-State competition. Five members of this year' orche tra were elected to be member of 1972 Minneota All-State Orche tra . They are: Andy Hall, Larry Frank, Anne Mills, Bob Gamble, and Keith Hulton .
