Netters Make 'City Champs' The Comets posted their best record ever, by taking the West Side and City Championship last spring. The Comets were led by Jim Pri– tula, Dave Domzal and Tom Mar– cellus. Larry Rowland also contrib– uted with a key victory over Redford. Dave and Tom went all the way to the finals in the regional tourna– ment before being defeated by a doubles team from Hamtramck. Jim lost out in the semi-finals in singles play. In the championship playoff, luck was on the side of the Comets, as they beat Osborn, 6~-0, and Mum– ford, 41h-2. Coach Don Fitch, despite the fact that only four of the nine lettermen are returning from the city cham– pionship team, is quite optimistic about this year's chances. The racket is just a blur as Gary Dawes shows the determination the Comets ex– hibited last year. Jim Manakis and Dan Garber look 011 as Gary demonstrates correct form. BOYS' TENNIS Front Row: Thomas MarceiJus, Dave Domzal, Larry Rowland, Jim Pritula (Cap– tain), Gary Dawes. Second Row: Dann Brittenham, Jim Manakis, Dan Garber, Ken Smith, Carl Rader, Mr. Don Fitch (Coach). 112
