Third R ow: Pamela 110 History has an odd way of repeating itself, as was proved in the Cody pool this year. The girls' swim team posted its second perfect record in as many years , proving the girls first in their league. The first meet of the season was a play-day against an incomplete team at Cass. Redford was the girls' next foe, whom they outswam, 65-68, with Carol Danboise, Joanne Reeder, Karen Delair and Janice Reeder taking individual firsts. Cody then took on Denby and managed to come out the victor once again. It was very close with Cody trailing by as much as ten points at one time before coming back to win, 65-58. Cody's individual firsts were: Joanne Reeder, Karen Delair, Janice Reeder, Carol Danboise, Mary Lou Shefsky and Marianne Ilg. Again the Comets left, this time to swim at High– land Park. They again emerged as the victors, 66-57. A victory over Ferndale was the next stop, 71-65. In a very fast and exciting finish to the season, our girls swam against a powerful Cooley team. The meet was so close that just before the last relay the score stood 56-55, in favor of Cody. The Comets then won the next meet, 64-59. Coach Patricia Altpeter is going to lose many fine swimmers due to graduation, but looks forward to next season with high hopes.
