South Lake High School 1950 Yearbook (St. Clair Shores, MI) - Full Access

About halfway between Ohio and Detroit, I see a little white house with a picket fence and the name on the mail box is Murray. FRANCINE CARNAGHI and Paul are doing very well. Not too far from the Murrays live MARILYN HUGHES and Danny, and about 20 miles from them is BERNICE MOORE who has the mate to that diamond she had back in 1950. I pass through Alma, Michigan and see BEVERLY JOSLIN and Duane entertaining their friends in their new ranch-type home. I get of£ the train in Detroit and go to the coffee shop in the station owned by MICHAEL WELCHK9. VIRGINIA LAWSON, his head waitress served me and the cashier of the coffee shop, JOAN CLEVER, wouldn't hear of accepting my money. Incidentally, the only thing I got free on the whole trip. I take the Deanhurst Bus to the Shores and passing the Woods Theatre, I see the manager, DARLENE RENNIE, giving the cashier, MARY ANN LABON, her opening money. As I gaze out the window, I recall the past few days spent with my former class– mates. All may not have reached the pinnacle of success, but none have dissappointed me. I am proud that they are members of the class of '50. THE PROPHET AT PARTING In every land the language knows Some tender, singing word That always, when the parting guest Speeds on his way, is heard. With "Au revoir," "Auf wiedersehn," "Adios" or "Farewell," Each meant, for sweet remembrance sake The heart's good wish to tell. But I like best the Mexican That holds all needs of men: "God keep you, friend, in grace and health Until we meet again." 26
