Grotberg and Tilley together scored 42 points to go with Browne's record 43 and led to a new team high in defeating Gaithersburg 99-77. With the help of Arnie Ruegg's five foul 'Shots in the last quarter and Scott Mason's fine defensive play, Whitman nipped a scrappy WJ team 43-39. Whitman's faint hopes of winning the County title were finally dashed 95-83 by the impressive Richard Montgomery team. Playing brilliantly, the Vikings led 46-44 at halftime. In the last game of the year Whitman defeated Northwood 86-71 to close an excellent eason.
